In the series of Three-Legged Idols, on some level, my work resonates with a question as to whether somaesthetics may someday become what humans long for. A tripod meets a rudimentary need by providing at least three points of contact with the ground, which enables stable support for objects on Earth. This principle serves as my motif to commemorate and honor human spatial wisdom.

At the same time, this series also incorporates an Animistic viewpoint, manifested in abstract pieces that draw upon myths, the natural world, and the ornamental ubiquity found across cultures since prehistory. By emphasizing the structure's stance, I illustrate a liminal space—the purgatory that exists between humanity's sedentary relationship with Earth, and its simultaneous yearning for the celestial and a speculative future.
